AT LAST

It was a a warm fall after a raining day, I was in my living room watching a nollywood movie when I heard a knock on my door. I pulled myself up from the rug and walked toward the door.

As I opened the door, there she was, staring at me with a frown, my girlfriend, the love of my life. ''Baby...''

''Don't baby me,'' she snapped. ''Harry, what's the meaning of all this? Why are you always like this.'' She said angrily.

I let out an explosive breath and met her eyes. ''Joy, I'm sorry. I tried but...''

''Don't tell me that.'' She yelled. ''That's what you always say.'' She slam her arm on her forehead. ''Gosh!''

''Baby it's not like, I did my...''

''Enough of your stories.'' She said. ''You should be ashamed of yourself, Harry. You're not responsible, I'm just wasting my time with you.''

All I could do was stare. Since I knew Joy she had never talk to me this way. I could see the anger burning bright in her eyes. I failed her again.

''Now listen, it's over between us, over.'' She said. ''And I don't ever want to see your face again.'' She turned and started walking away.

I hurried toward her. ''Joy.''

She turned? ''Don't touch me.'' Her eyes were cold. Anger consumed her the more.

I stood silently and watched her walked away. Sadness took all over me. I closed my eyes and pulled out a long hard breath. It was my fault. I knows it. I couldn't make her happy. I couldn't perform my duty as a lover. I opened my eyes and pulled my gaze toward the sky. 'God why?'

Money is not love as many would say, but no matter how strong love can become, if there is no money to back it up, it will only last for a while.

Since I started dating Joy, life had not been so good to me. She had bear with me for three years, with the hope that one day, life will smile on me.

I walked back into my face me i slap you room and found fifteen missed call on my phone. It was a number I couldn't ignore. I dialed the number. ''Mama.'' I said into the phone.

''Harry, hope you're good?'' My mother said.

''I'm fine mama, I saw your missed calls.'' I said weakly.

''Yes, your father is very sick and he had been taken to the hospital and the doctor is asking me to deposit the sum of #40,000 for his treatment. That's what wanted to tell you.''

''Sick? For how long?'' I asked.

''Over a week now, I thought it was an ordinary fever, but today it got worse that he couldn't stand on his feet, so with the help of baba ijesha we carried him to the hospital.''

''What did the doctor say about his sickness?'' I asked.

''He said he has a typhoid fever and he's short of blood.''

I drew in a long breath. ''Mama you know I don't have a job, there is no way I could raise that amount of....'' Before I could finish my words, my call card had been exhausted. I blew out a long breath and placed the phone on the table.

I was not happy all through the day. The thought my of girlfriend who as dumped me because I wasn't able to meet her needs took all over me and getting money to pay my father's hospital bill made me sick.

That evening I visited my friend Bode. I met him in a beer parlour opposite his house, smiling as he saw me. ''Harry Harry.'' He said happily. ''Sit down and join me celebrate jo.''

''What are you celebrating?'' I settled beside him. ''Have you won lottery?''

He laughed. ''This is more than a lottery man.'' He said and ordered a bottle of beer for me. ''Look man I have discovered a new way to be rich.''

''Rich? How? Hope it's not blood money?'' I asked.

Bode laughed. ''No, far from it.'' He took a sip from his glass. ''I have found a way to make dollars, I mean dollars man.''

I stared with surprise. ''Dollars? When did you start doing yahoo yahoo?'' I lifted my glass and took a sip.

''It is not yahoo yahoo.'' He said. ''It's a legit online business. You can make up to 500 dollars a day.''

My eyes widened. ''You don't mean it. How does it work?''

''All you need to do is to register an account and perform a small task everyday to make thousands dollars.''

He brought out is phone and showed me the website and his account. I couldn't believe it, it was more than real. ''Why have not tell me this before?'' I asked.

He smiled. ''I just wanted to be sure of it before telling you.''

From that very day, my life changed for good after I register an account. Money was nolonger a problem. I now lived in a very neat duplex, driving an expensive car, and the most beautiful part of it is that i didn't invest a dime to make all those thousands of dollars. At last, I became a happy man.

For the past one week, Joy has been begging me to accept her back.

What do you say about Joy who dumped me when I was nobody?

Should I accept her back?

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

I walked toward my front door as it bell rang for the second time. Without any doubt I knew my visitor was nobody but my friend Jide who I had been expecting. When I pulled the door opened, there he was. ''What kept you so long?" I asked.

"Sorry," he apologized as he walked in."It was that babe that tied me down o."

I stared at him thoughtfully. "Which babe?"

"That babe we met last week at Shoprite."

"The pastor's daughter?"

"Yes," he said. "I was minding my business at home this afternoon o, when I saw her call, and she informed me about her coming, and before I knew it she was at my door step."

"Really? She came to invite you for a church service?"

"Church watin?" Jide laughed. "She almost killed me."

"Oti o. You enter?"

"Harry, na the babe enter me, live and direct."

my eyes widened. "You don't mean it." I started laughing so loud.

"Omo she shop banana like say tomorrow nuh dey." Jide said with a laugh.

"So a pastor's daughter can eat banana so well." I began to laugh.

I was the first person to noticed the pastor's daughter when Jide escorted me to Shoprite to get some stuffs. 'Hey man, check this out,' I told Jide. 'Every man's dream.'

Jide quickly walked toward her. At first, she ignored Jide completely until he found a way to make her laugh. I don't know what he said to her, but the jokes he played worked for him. That was how Jide succeeded in having her phone number, and she later introduced herself as a pastor's daughter.

"So with all her shakara and her innocenty face, she shop banana?"

Jide laughed till I remembered we had a party to attend. "We're late for Chioma's party. Let's start going,'' I said .

''Okay. Let's take my car.''

I almost agreed when I remembered Jide could be funny at times, especially when it comes to a party like this, where there would be a lot beautiful ladies. "No." I said. "You take your car, I take mine. I don't want what happened the last time to happen again.'' I said.

"Hey, I thought I apologised." He said.

"I know but let's do it my own way."

The last time we went to a night club in Jide's car, I almost got killed when a fight broke out between some cult members around 2am. I got outside to discovered Jide had left the night club without telling me. I quickly hide myself in save place, and called him on phone. You won't believe the goat was in a hotel room, f**kin.

We arrived at the party about 30 minutes later. It was a get together party, organised in a beautiful garden by one of my colleagues at work, who made it a must for me to attend.

"Mr Harry?"

I turned toward the voice and saw my colleague, chioma, walking toward me. "You're welcome," she offered a hand shake and do the same to Jide, before leading us to an empty table and ordered us to be saved.

The heavy sound playing out from the big speaker closer to us was making it difficult for me to hear what Jide was saying. "What?" I asked.

"Over there,'' he nodded toward the direction.

I turned my head to see a beautiful young lady, sitting alone. "Wow!" I said. I had never seen a lady so pretty like her. I waved my hand to catch her attention. She smiled and pulled her face away.

"Me..n,'' I said to Jide. "This is a rose I dont mind plucking."

Jide leaned his head forward. "Go for it man, nuh f**kup."

I pulled myself up and walked toward her. "Hi." I sent her a smile.

"Hi." She smiled back.

Without her permission, I sat at her table. "I'm Harry."

She stared at me for few seconds. "Good to meet you Harry," her voice was like a sweet melody playing out from a stereo. "I'm Sandra."

"Your name is as pretty as you are."

Her smile started from one corner of her mouth. "Thanks."

She was truly beautiful. The word beauty was invented for this lady. "Are you alone?" I asked.

"Yes." She nodded.

"You look quite different from other people invited to this party." I said, admiring her beauty.

"That's because I wasn't invited."

"Really? You must be one of the organisers, I suspect."

"No." She said softly. "I'm here for business."

Business? Oh! My mind skipped. "Really? What business do you do?" I asked politely.

She smiled. "I'm a photographer." She said proudly.

"Really?" I said. "That's beautiful. And why have you not stated working? I mean I would love to take a snap." I ended with a wink.

She brushed a hair off her forehead and smiled. "My camera developed fault some minutes ago, and it made me sad." She shook her slowly.

"I'm sorry about that."

"It's okay."

We talked for a very long moment. She was really an interesting person to be with. She announced her leave after checking her wrist watch.

"I thought you would stay for the party." I said. "It's late."

"I know." She smiled. "I lived nearby."

"Okay, can I drop you at home in my car?"

She stared at me thoughtfully for few seconds. "No, thanks. Don't stress yourself."

"Why? No stress." I got to my feet. "Shall we?"

She nodded with a smile and got up from her seat. I tried looking out for Jide as we were waking toward my car, but I didn't see his break light.

Lola and I left the party around 10pm. It took me about 30 minutes before getting to her apartment. She lived in a very big duplex. "You stay alone?" I asked as I pulled the car to a stop.

She smiled. "Yes. Do you want to come in?"

Come in? I couldn't believe it. I quickly agreed. "Yes. If you don't mind."

She smile. "I don't mind."

I left my car outside the house and followed her into the beautiful apartment. My eyes were wide opened as she lead me into her sitting room. “Wow! This is Heaven.” I stood mouth agape, taking in every detail of the beautiful room.

She turned with her gaze fixed on mine. Her red lips were crying out to be kissed. "Thanks."

I smiled and pulled her into my arms. "Everything about you is beatifull." I said, and whispered a kiss across the sensitive flesh of her neck. Her breath caught. My lips meet hers, and for the briefest moment my kiss was tenuous, searching.

Her hands rested on my chest. My kiss deepened. At once all restraint shattered. She strained toward me. I pulled her tighter and we sank to our kneels. She fumbled at my clothes and I swiftly removed hers. Within moment our clothes were scattered about on the floor. She stared up into my eyes, and pulled me lower. With a slow ease, I possessed her body.

*****

I woke up feeling pains all over me. My eyes were too heavy to open. I tried to position myself well, but the coldness I felt forced me to snapped my eyes opened. What I saw doesn't make sense, I'm still dreaming, I thought, and closed my eyes, I need to wakeup right now. I opened my eyes again, still the same scene.

"JESUS!" I screamed, and jumped up at once. I couldn't believe my eyes. "Je..sus." I turned around.

The whole place was dark and quiet. I was consumed with fear. I was naked. My cloths were on the ground. I stared at the place I woke up from, I shivered as I realised it was on top a grave, I was inside a cemetery.

"Jesus!" I quickly picked up my cloths from the ground and my car keys, and ran as fast as I could.

I met my car at the gate of the cemetery. Quickly I got into the car, and zoomed off.

After that night, I fell seriously sick for two months.

What do you say about me?..??

“I’ve realized one thing,” I said, dotingly hugging my much-married wife.

“What?”

“The opposite of love is not hate – it is indifference.”
kindly throw some light

A fight breaks between the two religions, leaving dead bodies around the city.

"Allahu akba!!" A young muslim brother says in a loud voice, beheading a little girl not more than three years in front of him.

"Bring them out!"

They drags a man out of his house with his wife, along with four children. "Please don't kill us, pleassse!"  Without mercy, the Muslims set them of fire.

"Kill them all!!"

"No please don't...." A cutlass separates her body before she could finishes her words.

"Burn down their houses!"

March 14, 7:19am, Jos.

The Christians gathers in a lager number at the front of Daniel's apartment. "We must attack them now." One of them says in annoyance.

"We don't just attack." Daniel says. "We need a plan." He slides his gaze to a young man standing beside him. "We need to plan it very well, if not, we will fall into their traps."

"We will do to them what they did to us." An old man raises his voice with so much anger. "Let's attack them at night."

"Let's attack them now," a woman's voice sounds aloud from the back. "Before they come after us."

"Yes we must get to them," a young man says. "Before they get to us."

Daniel stares at them for few seconds. "They are not fools," he says. "They know we are coming after them, if we are not careful, we will fall into their traps."
