Following the last month's bloody clash between the Eiye and Aiye confraternities in Ogun state, resulting in the killing of a police inspector, aftermath of which was the arrest and arraignment of 34 suspects, there was a renewed clash of superiority, during which the two feuding groups lost one member each.

Victims of the latest onslaughts were one Wasiu and Aja.

According to Felix Mordi, Wasiu, a member of Eiye Confraternity, was allegedly killed at Station Road on Wednesday, May 8, 2018 while Aja, an Aye member was killed two days after (Friday) by members of the opposition, Eiye.

Worried by the development, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, was said to have directed special units of the command, comprising operatives of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) and Anti Cultist/Kidnapping section to move in and bring the hoodlums to justice.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, "In compliance with the CP's directive, the Officer-in-charge of FSARS DSP Uba Adams swung into action, and embarked on technical intelligence-based investigation. Their efforts paid off when the hideout of the hoodlums was discovered. They stormed the place and got eight of them arrested with various types of dangerous arms and ammunition".

Oyeyemi gave the names of the suspects as Muyiwa Talabi, 31, Tunde Adeyemi, 35, Afolabi Ismail, 34, Niyi Adeshina, 21, Segun Saka, 38, Korede Pariosho, Dayo Johnson and Micheal Oluwasegun.

Investigation revealed that Muyiwa Talabi and Niyi Adeshina were the assailants of Wednesday's victim, Wasiu, even as Niyi later confessed to have targeted the victim in retaliation for the killing of his brother, Tosin , in 2017.

Niyi and Muyiwa were identified as strong members of Aye group, and took orders from one Arasi, their supposed leader, now at large.

The PPRO said, in a press release made available to Crimepuzzle, that the Friday's victim, Aja, another strong member of Aiye, "was traced to his house by members of the rival group (Eiye) and hacked to death, just before the arrival of police operatives, who had intended to arrest him".

The police image maker further hinted that two Pump Action guns, four locally made double barrel pistols, eleven live cartridges and assorted charms were recovered from the suspects, adding that CP Iliyasu had given a matching order to all the special units involved in the operation to go all out and smoke out all fleeing members of the confraternities, including their sponsors, irrespective of their social status.

It would be recalled that the 34 suspects earlier arrested were arraigned before Magistrate E. O. Idowu of Court 2, Ijebu-Igbo on Wednesday, April 18, on a ten-count charge bothering on felony to wit murder, obstructing policemen while on duty, disturbing the peace of the public, conspiracy, membership of unlawful society, among others.

The court did not take their pleas, but ordered that they be remanded in prison and adjourned the matter to June 6, 2018.

I have never seen more senseless persons than cultists.

People are making good use of their time and opportunities life presented them to make something out if it as well as enjoy it, they are fighting over supremacy, dying like chickens in the name of brotherhood.

Look at them, despite all the gra-gra, they still look hungry.

Young ones listen! Cultism never pays, rather you wld pay with your life

When you ask these guys what they tend to gain, you will surely hear things like protection, instant job when you graduate from school or if you need one, easy mark in school, no need of going to class, more women, money etc.

Especially the ones in the street, they are nothing to write home about, they seek for protection but they end up killing each other, you see them dried up cos of smoking, drinking and no money to eat good food, no good job and you begin to wonder what they are benefiting from this rubbish.

Oh our so called politicians will pay them during election? or they go out and Rob? At the end of the day, they either end up in jail or get killed.

What a useless life.
