If you are innocent and righteous and your father is or was not righteous , God can punish you for the sins of your father and will not bless you :

The blood of your father runs in your veins. If your father's blood does not match yours , you are not his son.

As long as you will inherit your father's Assets and liabilities , so you will inherit his spiritual Assets and liabilities .

Our forefathers knew this and always ask questions whenever a man or a woman wanted to choose a spouse . Why ? At times you here things like " you can't marry from that family because insanity runs in there lineage " etc. This is because there is a curse of insanity in that lineage and it will go on and on like that . When you picture Jesus on the cross, don't try to question whether is a good thing or not that God should punish an innocent man. It is not in your place to justify the acts of God. Rather, when you picture Jesus Christ on the cross of calvary, see Him as you sin(cursed) offering.

Your response would have been perfect if you avoid using the word 'righteous soul'. I'm neither castigating you nor blaming you for not knowing.

For anyone to be free from the sins of the fathers (blood line) he must first be made free from the sins of Adam and there is no other platform to get that done other than the platform of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and your Savior according to John 1:12 transpose you from the the faulty bloodlines to the bloodline of God that never knew curse. (Gal 3:13) This is the only premises where forgiveness of sin and of sins (I. e Adamic sin and sins of the fathers) can be obtained. It is one time blotting out of the old bad records and new unblemish chapter is opened for you. (Gal 2:20)

Doing good works which is often referred to holiness is not the same as righteousness! All that was mentioned in the scripture you quoted above is an act of doing good work which is not bad in anyway but cannot be substituted for righteousness.

According to Romans 5:17..., righteousness is a gift and not what you have on the platform of 'work '
Remember .... Abraham believe God and it was accounted for him as righteousness.

It is only God that can declare anyone righteous and its often on the platform of faith I.e unquestioning obedience to him and when He calls you righteous your mistakes and errors are overlooked, even when satan is accusing you before God. That is secret behind King David's life.

A curse is both physical and spiritual.
A curse is a command physically issued to spiritual beings to carry out an assignment against a person or group of people which will manifest physically in many forms like insanity , poverty, barrenness, untimely death etc, according to the instructions.

There is no contradictions in the Bible and as per :
