http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/10152302.stm I am not happy about this but some people make it appear as if Ghana is now heaven. Ghanaians flee violence for northern Togo Page last updated at 11:26 GMT, Tuesday, 25 May 2010 E-mail this to a friendPrintable version Some 3,500 refugees have crossed into northern Togo from Ghana, Togo's security minister says. They are victims of ethnic conflict and land disputes in the northern part of Ghana, he said. The refugees started arriving last week and consist mainly of women, children and young people. A BBC reporter in Togo says Ghanaian refugees fleeing into northern Togo to escape unrest at home has become a regular occurrence in recent years. Temporary shelter camps have been set up in Tandjouare in northern Togo. After visiting the camp, Security Minister Colonel Mohammed Atcha Titikpina said: "We have come in the name of the government of Togo to express our sympathies and solidarity with our [Ghanaian] brothers and sisters. "Our immediate task is to find the resources to provide these refugees with emergency relief supplies, security, feeding, clothing and temporary rehabilitation structures." In 1994-95, land disputes in northern Ghana erupted into ethnic violence, resulting in the deaths of 1,000 people and the displacement of a further 150,000. |

How often do you read of this about ghana or even other reliable nations. A friend just came back from Nigeria and was a victim of armed robbery . . . . He was in a cab from Lagos to Ibadan and like almost a kilometer of the highway was blocked while the bad guys were carrying out their operations, everyone face down with gun and all that. 30 Mins later, the cops showed up . . . . .Tell me which other nation could that kinda nonsense happened, except in Hollywood? |

Edoyad, some years back I was discussing with a Ghanian friend about our aboki madness and he told that aboki upnorth are also very troublesome but luckily for them their population and the Ashanti are the clear majority only and never allowed them to grow sharp teeth unlike Yoruba Igbo, South and middlebelt. If we had earlier on put them in their place their wahala won't be that bad. |

^^^^^^^^ That is true. The Ashanti used to control those northerners before the Europeans came. They even raided the north for slaves which is unheard of from many southern non-Muslim groups. Raiding a Muslim people for slaves. Those Ashanti still do not play around with the northerners. However, I remember one of my Ashanti friends said that an Ashanti man may not fear a Hausa, but they are definitely wary of Fulanis though. |

Definitely the fulanis are a warrior tribe like the masai of Kenya, they've been hardened from years of trekking the wild and fighting wild beasts to defend their cows. But the days of chakabula with bow and arrow are gone, this is the age of AK47 with RPGs. |

Ezeuche and Edoyad. Realtalk man. Like EDoyad said the days of bow and arrow don pass. Any group should be wary of the Fulani. |
