I'm an Accountant, crossed from science in Ss2, however, if I were to study any science course, it would be either of the two. For computer science, I guess mathematics, English, Physics, Economics, Chemistry.

If u are, rethink bro if u r not doing well as a geophysicst, there several numbers of people doing fantastically well and obviously not in oil and gas has u may think. Moreso havent u see medical doctors and other para medical option really searching for jobs and might even find one which won't stop their success in life. There is beauty and success in geosciences if it works for u.

Young man, I am not discrediting the fact that geosciences are a lucrative and fulfiling career option. My problem is the environment, Nigeria environment is toxic to the individual that seeks to build their career in this field. For you to delve and become relevant in this geoscience field you must work in any industry related to this field. This is where the main problem arises most local industry employs 70-80 percent of people they know one way or the other(Nepotism, lobbying). I am not talking about the international industries because of how competitive it is. My dear the only field that fits Nigeria environment is the IT industry where you could easily acquire any skill online and become a boss of your own and even become easily employable.its like you are still in school, you don't know Nigeria labour market well.

Listen, it depends on you. For example:

1.If you're good with precision instruments or/and you have a little interest in drawing, you could go for architecture.

2.Can you read for long hours? Are you very good at chemistry and mathematics? Then you could consider pharmacy.

3. Can you read for long hours? Are you very good at chemistry and mathematics? Then you could consider Applied geology too.

4. How good is your physics/mathematics? Electrical and electronics engineering and some other engineering courses could be for you.

Since you are looking for a high paying 8-4 then you should pay attention to courses which you feel you can do better at and select one. Your CGPA when you graduate goes a long way in determining where you will be employed(try as much as possible to get a 1st class or a 2.1 at worst) you could even go for a lecturing job at the end...no stress.
