Why Celebrities Maintain A Unique Fashion Style

Have you ever wondered why many rich and influential celebrities always maintain a particular dress style, sense or some colours. Do you think they don’t have money to buy plenty clothes like my aunty or they are just dumb in fashion sense?
Over time, fashion has been rather psychological than mere beautification. Psychological, because people tend to wear clothes their mind think it’s cool and comfortable with, than wearing every other random dress. Have you asked your self why a friend always prefer a black dress and you may love a red make of that same dress? Individual preference I guess? People feel more connected to some colours than others, and that may usually contribute to their sense of confidence.

In this 21st century, the choice of clothes is mostly influenced by our attraction to them, simplicity, colours, designs, texture, nature of work, cost and a host of other numerous factors. The cost factor which is the least (don’t argue), has been a primary reason many people end up in wrong choices, because of their attachment to the philosophy, “the costlier your wears, the better your value.” This is not always true, as people can spend huge amounts of money in buying clothes that don’t fit their personality, but may be comfortable because his/her sense of worth is attached to price than style and simplicity. This is what prompted me to write this post.

Considering the cost factor, here is a list of celebrities who I think don’t attach so much attention to their fashion cost, but rather creating a unique style, personality and simplicity with their fashion.

#1 Donald Trump – flare for red ties
As the 45th President of the world’s most influential nation, one would expect Trump to patronize all manners of designs and fashion collections but his flare for red ties got some thinking, why those he keep repeating ties when he has the money to buy a billion ties of different colors? That defines his psychological approach to his fashion sense. Red is an energetic colour that craves for attention, that says it all of Trump. He’s always in the news, so, it’s obvious to note that his fashion sense sends a subliminal message of his power and vigour. You will agree with me that fashion in this case is used in building personality rather a fulfillment from expenditure. Have you noticed his unique hair style? Have you noticed Obama’s flare for blue ties? Fashion should be personality based than cost based. I never said Trump wear cheap ties, before I hear my name on CNN.

#2 Mark Zuckerberg – grey colored T-shirt. You wanna tell me he’s poor and that’s why he can’t afford to repeat that weird T-shirt abi? Listen to that thought of yours, then, join me and laugh your self. Facebook cofounder, Zuck, falls into this category of people who opt for fashion just for simplicity sake rather than cost. His reason, he doesn’t want to be distracted with the choice of what to wear when he wakes up each morning, knowing, he has a billion needs to meet. Wisdom abi?

Let’s take it down to Nigeria,

#3 Goodluck Jonathan – black etibo. Have you wondered why the former President is seen always with same colour and design of etibo?

#4 Ngozi Okonjo-iweala – Headtie
Former Finance Minister, Ngozi’s head tie is worth talking about. Only God knows why she loves that style of head wrapping which had become her trade mark.

#5 Yemi Osinbajo – Have you observed that Nigeria’s 2nd citizen often appears in his black traditional dress complemented with his black hat. Trade mark!

#6 TY Bello – What about her addiction to simple colours and unique dress sense? Trade mark!

I personally believe our approach to fashion should be a match to creating our unique style and personality, rather than trying to impress people with different designs and collections of clothes. As a person, you must not wear everything you see people wear, that makes you unique. Only you does it.

The key players of our world are economical, matured, focused and comfortable with their choice of fashion. So tell me why our aunties want to buy all the Gucci bags and clothes with their ordinary civil servant salary that person we nor hear word sef. Looking good is always a good business. Our value to the society is not determined by looking good but by bringing food to the table.
Let me end here, before you ask me what I have contributed to the society. I can not fit quarrel you.
Just contribute in the comment box and leave me alone.
