One of our client requires the need for a Geophysical Data technician with Bachelors Degree in Physics, Geophysics or related field with 5 to 10 years of experience or more with the following required skills;

•Load, move and reformat seismic data using a variety of seismic software programs and in-house databases;
•Plan map content, format and design; display and compile required data from aerial photographs, survey notes, records, reports and other maps;
•Complete basic data translations;
•Develop and provide in-depth software expertise, e.g. write macros and troubleshoot;
•Maintain geophysical databases, e.g. archive, store, organize, update and retrieve seismic data; and
•Carry out a range of other technical functions to support Geologists and Geophysicists.
•QC of loaded seismic data with the Geophysicists.
•Supervise activities of offsite Seismic data storage services and data flow.
•Strong aptitude for working with computers, database systems and ability to learn new applications quickly;
•Able to use a variety of sophisticated computer applications to develop maps, geoscience software products and database systems;
•A very good understanding of Seismic data acquisition formats and storage media
•A very good knowledge of SEG data storage and encapsulation formats.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word™, MS Excel™ and MS PowerPoint™); and attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are critical.
