Then they proceed to start citing stories they have heard of people being swindled with the use of diabolical powers.

She met them at oshodi. True
They talked to her. True
She did not know they were controlling her. False!
She was actually swindled using her greed. Fraudsters in nigeria have different tactics to scam people most times claiming they have something valuable in possession and only need small money to sort some things out. They promise you some benefits off the deal and cos of greed you accept it. After they disappear with your money, you realize how foolish you were. How would you go home and tell them you were that stvpid? Hence you play the voodoo victim.

You make wrong decisions that leads to your business failing. Instead of manning up and taking responsibility, you blame it on witches from the village.

A student fails in school. Easy way of gaining sympathy is to blame it on spiritual forces.


I have met many fraudsters on the road, ikeja under bridge, Oja Oba in Akure most especially. Their jazz never works on me, but i have friends who have been victims and instead of accepting they were foolish, they start exaggerating and adding salt and pepper to the story to absolve them of the poor decision they made.

This is the origin of most stories we hear, most are just excuses to put the blame away from ourselves.
