They can't afford 5k for the UME application forms. Please how do they plan to sustain their academic years at the university?
That is the point the reduction starts from somewhere

Most of these people are pushed into the university with the hope that they will fend for themselves when they get in

You see student plaiting hair, sell bread and anything they can lay their hands on just to keep the dream alive

Then for the unscrupulous ones, they turn to sugar daddy or mummy

The suffering is real

Only a leader at the grassroot can see that

Not doubting this but this could be far from the truth.
The advent of technology and digital marking will undoubtedly JAMB expenditure.
Years gone scripts were marked by external markers, and it ain't free.

I don't get it!... you generated 9.8 billion and returned 7.8 million to the government?..... oga, clarify.....

Exactly what I wanted to ask. Uncoordinated lies would always find a way to be exposed.

The price of forms may be reduced but trying to make it look like a form sold for 10 pounds is expensive is a rude joke.

If the student already knows how to dress hair and sew, then 5k shouldn't be a problem.

Jamb was never marked by the public.

The questions have always been multiple choice with shading of correct answers.

I worried about him using 'I'

Since d FG didn't carry out a mass sack, since he took over at jamb, he's been d only addition. He made d change!

It shows his ego, but, he deserves accolades. Everyone, was involved in d looting, before his tenure. I wish he's made d substantiative minister of education.

[b]It's easy for you to say undecided

Is it every one that knows how to sew We are talking about fresh school leavers here undecided

I know of a girl, who said she has to go to the school bakery, collect a little bread from the little money she and her friends were able to gather and that is how they started selling bread to those in the hostel

But it wasn't enough cause they have to eat also from the bread when they are hungry. So where is the profit

And Don't forget that they had to be district as the school frown at such undecided
A lot of stories like that

If you go into the university and ask student how they survive, you will hear so many stories and will make you shed tears.

Look, I can afford these things and more but the stark reality is that many people out there cannot afford these things undecided

They can't even afford 3 square meal

Some of these people parents hawk for some days to be able to put this money together for them

Don't forget that they are not the only ones in the family

These same parent also have to gather money for other bills like rents, feeding, school fees for others, transportation and so on and so forth

So if they manage to buy a form for you then you are on your own

FG did well by asking students not to pay fees. He got that one right!

Very simple question, if buying the form for 5k is a problem, how then would they sustain themselves at school?

Please give it up.

There are the destitute amongst us no doubt, but giving me a sob story, to make it appear as if 5k for application forms, somehow prevents people from achieving their academic dreams is appealing to sympathy.

If the 5k is too heavy for an applicant, then it is safe to say such a person would struggle to pass whilst at uni.

It's really true.

JAMB officials look out for sale if cards and forms every year.

You need to see the way they spent money and acquired properties.

Do you think Yinka Ayefele will praise someone in his record for nothing?

Exactly. They were living very large

Jamb shouldn't be a revenue generating agency anyway. The price of writing the exam should be reduced to encourage qualified youths to write . I've met a few people who simply didn't have the money to buy UME forms
You should have noticed the pattern of taking from the nation to serve the north under this government.

Good question. Think about it for a moment. Virtually everyone that attends a University has someone sponsoring him or her. It could be a parent, guardian, relative or whatever so if someone secures admission he or she needs a sponsor by default. If someone has secured admission it is probably easier to get a sponsor than if he is looking for someone to pay for his UME. That's the irony of life in Nigeria. As they say, if u know u know.
