FORMER Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has defeated President Muhammadu Buhari in two separate online polls concerning the 2019 general election.

The duo are presidential hopeful of the two major political parties in Nigeria gearing up for the 2019 general election.

Two polls promoted by pro-Buhari influencers, sprung up shortly after the administration marked its third anniversary on May 29.

In the first poll conducted by Mark Essien, Abubakar, came first with 43 per cent of votes, while Buhari trailed him with 35 per cent. The poll had a total of 9,067 participants.

In the second poll conducted by an online medium, Y naija, on its twitter handle, 7,444 participants voted in the poll.

YNaija, Nigeria’s most successful youth blog run by Red Media, played a major role in Buhari’s media during the 2015 elections. In its poll Abubakar polled 70 per cent while Buhari came second with 19 per cent.

Similarly, in an ongoing poll on the website of HEADLINE — https://www.headlineng.com — Abubakar is seen defeating Buhari, even though Sowore Omoyele, a presidential hopeful and publisher of Sahara Reporters is seen leading in the poll.

In a recent poll on the same topic by NOI/Gallup, the President’s rating on performance dip to 41 per cent.

In that NO1/Gallup Poll also, the administration’s three-year scorecard in the critical areas that have the greatest impact on the lives of ordinary Nigerians, the presumed base of the President were dismal: Economy (16%), Job Creation (15%) and Poverty Alleviation (12%).
