JOB SUMMARY
Identifies and applies corrosion treatment and removes corrosion from control systems, electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical, measurement facilities, natural gas compressor station, gas and fire detection systems and auxiliary equipment such as electrical generators, air compressors, pumps, valves, valve operators, filters, scrubbers, etc. by chemical and mechanical means under minimum supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs pipeline locates/construction watches, may operate portable and mobile work equipment, and participate in customer and
emergency agency meetings.

2. Responsible for the maintenance and operational function of assigned vehicle, tools
and equipment.

3. Responsible to coordinate and complete the specific project task objectives.

4. Working well with local Operations and Maintenance groups and other Corrosion Prevention/Pipeline Integrity personnel and
management.

5. Responsible for annual cathodic protection surveys, bi-monthly rectifier and critical bond inspections and maintaining the appropriate
records/documentation.

6. Design, installation and maintaining corrosion control systems.

7. Directing and inspecting new cathodic protection system installations.

8. Troubleshooting, analysis and repair of areas with pipe to soil potentials that do not meet established criteria.

9. Developing and maintaining records for all surveys, tests, work progress reports or other corrosion related documentation. Actively
support all corrosion control related activities associated with maintenance and new construction projects.

10. Assist with the preparation of job plans, negotiating contracts, budgeting and forecasting costs associated with corrosion control
activities.

11. Conducting close interval surveys to detect deficiencies and correcting identified interference issues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

NACE Corrosion Technician certification is required.
Tech must have a minimum of 5 years pipeline related experience.
Knowledge of pipeline operations and the characteristics of products transported by pipeline.
