I pray Nigerians will realise who their real enemies are before its too late! So Saraki is now everyones hero?
Oga please that lexus jeep that was found in the Kwara state government house, was it Abba Kyari that planted it there? The Kwara state government in the press release they put out yesterday, did they deny that the jeep was found in the premises of the government house? Instead they said they actually gave money and cars to those boys and didn't know what they used the money for! How then did Abba Kyari enter the argument?
I pray God will give you the wisdom and sense to understand those that are against Nigeria and those that are for Nigeria. The EFCC has arrested Senators Peter Nwabaoshi, Jonah Jang and is about inviting Stella Oduah and Ekwerenmadu. Many more are going to be invited. These people that we all thought were untouchable before! They thought they could take our money and go to the senate and pretend nothing happened. That era has gone! And instead of Nigerians to be thankful to the FG for helping us do away with that era, we are praising the very people that have oppressed and stolen from us for so long!

I never thought i'd live to see the day when people would hold Saraki to a higher moral standard than Buhari. Nigerians are indeed a mad people.

Read and understand my post before you quote me. When I talk of Abba Kyari, I'm talking about the one in Aso Rock not the policeman.

Saraki is a miscreant who comes from a long lineage of thieves, that's not in doubt. The earlier he's dealt with, the better for Nigerians.

However, we're not fooled by the reasons for his present predicament. Some of us are more intelligent than that.

You don't understand what is happening. Buhari is not the ones behind these things, he doesn't have the strength and he's not that intelligent. Hear the nonsense Buhari says. Does he sound like someone normal?

Them Abba Kyari, Daura, Tunde (his PA), and others in the mafia are beyond these. When needed, they conscript others into the plot.

The plan is to reduce Saraki to nothing before the next elections so that even if he decamps, he'll be politically worthless and no threat to Buhari.

Saraki is no Maradona anywhere since he and Kwara Governor were stoned in Ilorin 2 years ago. His Senator colleagues are willing to impeach him to have peace. He's just another yeoman in the Senate.

state houses of assembly has no role in the impeachment process of the president.

10 Steps to impeach a Nigerian President and his vice

Section 143 of the 1999 Constitution provides a guide to the impeachment of a sitting President and his vice.

(1) Whenever a notice of any allegation in writing signed by not less than one-third of the members of the National Assembly:-

(a) is presented to the President of the Senate;

(b) stating that the holder of the office of President or Vice-President is guilty of gross misconduct in the performance of the functions of his office, detailed particulars of which shall be specified, the President of the Senate shall within seven days of the receipt of the notice cause a copy thereof to be served on the holder of the office and on each member of the National Assembly, and shall also cause any statement made in reply to the allegation by the holder of the office to be served on each member of the National Assembly.

(2) Within fourteen days of the presentation of the notice to the President of the Senate (whether or not any statement was made by the holder of the office in reply to the allegation contained in the notice) each House of the National Assembly shall resolve by motion without any debate whether or not the allegation shall be investigated.

(3) A motion of the National Assembly that the allegation be investigated shall not be declared as having been passed, unless it is supported by the votes of not less than two-thirds majority of all the members of each House of the National Assembly.

(4) Within seven days of the passing of a motion under the foregoing provisions, the Chief Justice of Nigeria shall at the request of the President of the Senate appoint a Panel of seven persons who in his opinion are of unquestionable integrity, not being members of any public service, legislative house or political party, to investigate the allegation as provide in this section.

(5) The holder of an office whose conduct is being investigated under this section shall have the right to defend himself in person and be represented before the Panel by legal practitioners of his own choice.

(6) A Panel appointed under this section shall
(a) have such powers and exercise its functions in accordance with such procedure as may be prescribed by the National Assembly; and
(b) within three months of its appointment report its findings to each House of the National Assembly.

(7) Where the Panel reports to each House of the National Assembly that the allegation has not been proved, no further proceedings shall be taken in respect of the matter.

(cool Where the report of the Panel is that the allegation against the holder of the office has been proved, then within fourteen days of the receipt of the report at the House the National Assembly shall consider the report, and if by a resolution of each House of the National Assembly supported by not less than two-thirds majority of all its members, the report of the Panel is adopted, then the holder of the office shall stand removed from office as from the date of the adoption of the report.

(9) No proceedings or determination of the Panel or of the National Assembly or any matter relating thereto shall be entertained or questioned in any court.

(10) In this section – “gross misconduct” means a grave violation or breach of the provisions of this Constitution or a misconduct of such nature as amounts in the opinion of the National Assembly to gross misconduct.

they can't impeach pmb because saraki and co became the leaders of the National Assembly through his non interference politics.

Even if he had interfered, saraki is a step ahead of them, pmb is only after his seat and thus didnt care who got Nass leadership, he woke up later to realize he messed up

Re: Senate, Reps In Closed Door Meeting Over Impeachment Plot by PaChukwudi44(m): 4:51pm On Jun 05, 2018
yarimo:
read the constitution before commenting in a public forum
okay
Step 1

A notice of any allegation in writing alleging gross misconduct on the part of the President. This notice must be signed by not less than one-third of the members of the National Assembly (both the Senate and House of Representatives) is presented to the Senate President.

* Gross misconduct is defined by the Constitution as ‘…a grave violation or breach of the provisions of this Constitution or a misconduct of such nature as amounts in the opinion of the National Assembly to gross misconduct.’

Step 2

The Senate President must within 7 days, serve the President and each member of the National Assembly with a copy of the notice of allegation.

Step 3

The President has a right of reply (he/she does not have to reply however), and any such statement in reply to the allegation must be served on each member of the National Assembly.

Step 4

Within 14 days of the presentation of the notice to the Senate President, each House of the National Assembly shall resolve by motion without any debate whether or not the allegation shall be investigated. This motion needs to be passed by at least two-thirds majority of all members of each House of Assembly.

Step 5

If the motion fails to reach the required majority, the process immediately stops, and no further action will be taken. However, if the required majority is obtained and the motion is passed, then the Senate President will within 7 days of the passing of the motion, request the Chief Justice of Nigeria to appoint a Panel of seven persons who in his opinion are of unquestionable integrity to investigate the allegations. The members of the Panel cannot be members of any public service, legislative house or political party.

Step 6

The Panel is to report its findings within three months of being appointed. The findings will be reported to each House of the National Assembly. During the proceedings of the Panel, the President shall have a right to defend himself, and shall also have the right to be defended by a legal practitioner of his/her choice.

Step 7

Where the Panel reports that the allegation has not been proven, there will be no further action. However, if the report is that the allegation against the President has been proven, then the National Assembly will consider the report, and a resolution for the adoption of the report shall be moved.

Step 8

For the resolution to be adopted, it must be supported by not less than two-thirds majority of all the members of each House. Once adopted the President shall stand removed from office as from the date of the adoption of the report.

Consequences of impeachment
1.Upon the adoption of the report by two-thirds majority of the National Assembly, the President stands impeached, and most immediately vacate the office of President.
2.The office of the President will pass to the incumbent Vice-President, and he will take the oath of office.
3.Once the resolution is adopted, there is no recourse to any court of law or judicial proceedings. The President cannot challenge the decision of the panel or the National Assembly.
4.The President is normally entitled, upon vacation of office, to a pension for life at the rate equivalent to the annual salary of the incumbent President. He loses this pension for life upon impeachment.
5.Where the President is impeached, and the Office of the Vice-President is vacant at the time, then the President of the Senate shall hold the office of President for a period of not more than three months, during which there shall be an election of a new President, who shall hold office for the unexpired term of office of the last holder of the office.

As useless as Buhari is, this Senate can NEVER impeach Buhari.

They are lily-livered cowards who are in mortal fear of Buhari. What they dread most is Buhari coming after them. As it stands now, Saraki is incapable of protecting himself from Buhari not to talk of protecting Senators under him.

What would happen is this: Buhari would offer them respite if they impeach Saraki. They'll happily do that for them to have peace. Buhari on the other hand would have a compliant legislature as Saraki would be castrated ahead of 2019.

Your still thinking like a poor man, think bigger. Why would Buhari cut a deal with Senators and Representatives, when he can get 3 for the price of 1 with the governors of which he owns 19. Talaka brain, always want to eat once you see food, when you reach the main course you belly would be already full.

Almajiri, go school you no gree. You prefer bombing your infrastructure 200 years backwards.

Buhari has 19 Governors but they're padding budgets under his watch. Why couldn't the 19 Governors influence the Senate elections? I'm sure you're counting Aregbesola, Ortom, Isiaku, Lalong and Okorocha among the Governors.

Saraki has nothing and he is about to realize it. Like Jonathan once, appeal to the popular vote, more than the influential vote, you get voted out.
