Hello Agripreneurs and my bosses, As a grad student of soil and crop at here in the US, one research question that has always intrigued me is what makes Nigeria the biggest producer of cassava worldwide (since 2002 till date). Considering that most farmers cannot afford chemical fertilizers, pesticides and optimized irrigation, I don't know what mother nature has endowed us with that makes our soils so good for cassava farming. I tried doing a google search but came up short, so I have decided to seek the opinions of our esteemed farmers here on Nairaland.
