1. The Senate have no power to invite the IGP. However, they can invite the Minister of Interior who is the boss to IGP. Then the Minister can delegate IGP to attend to them on his behalf. Contrary to popular opinion, those the Senate can invite are listed by the constitution. It the Senate that rubbishes herself by overstepping her powers
2. The invitation was to prevent law enforcement officers (Police) from doing their lawful duty (Dino's case).
3. Saraki has no immunity and should respect himself and respond to the police. You can see the Police didn't invite the Governor even though both were mentioned by the thugs

Once the two big men at the top discuss, this case will be closed summarily. The take away from this incident is that the character of the Senate President is questionable simple and short.

while I don't want to be an advocate for saraki are u seriously suggesting that we take allegations by the police as the absolute truth? the Nigerian police I know are experts at forging allegations and lies, there are numerous folks who are in police custody now, not because they committed an offence but they were frame with false allegations by the police. we have also seen numerous instances where the police pick up well dressed boys on the street only to get to the station and stick an allegation on them.
