Two Nigerian men have been arrested by detectives on suspicion of impersonating some of Kenya’s top leaders, including the First lady Margaret Kenyatta, in bid to swindle citizens of the country.

Police claim many Kenyans have fallen prey to the suspected fraudsters, Timothy Ogba Ebakole and Alex Olusegun Adebayo.

The suspects allegedly impersonated the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Kilifi Senator Steward Madzayo and his Bomet counterpart Christopher Langat on Facebook.

Kilifi Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer, Christopher Chesoli, said his team tracked the two suspects to Kayole in Nairobi after they got tips on their nefarious activities from the victims they have swindled.

According to him, the suspects are believed to have received cash to the tune of millions from their victims across the country and investigations are still on-going to arrest their accomplices, if any.

“We believe that they have received millions of shillings from the public. We took them to court on Friday but asked for another seven days to have them so that we can continue with the investigations,” Chesoli said.

He added that their probe revealed that they had also impersonated Bomet senator and the First Lady on Facebook.

"These guys have not only impersonated the First Lady of Kenya, they have also swindled the public in the name of Senators"

My brother i wonder. All these fraudsters are causing more damage to the face of Nigerian than the politicians they keep accusing of looting. When Nigeria is mentioned fraud is the first thing that comes to mind

Really doing scam in a foreign land is quite daring, they need to be severely punished to serve as a deterrent to others
