Is Religion Meant to Be A Barrier In A Relationship? Can't We Over Look Tribe & Religion to Embrace Love?

hmmmm,  at first glance, i tot of going all philosophical on this topic but i rather not. i'll just comment accordignly

Definitely not. so what? she is from another tribe or another religion?. as long as you both understand yourselves and care a whole lot about each other then go for it.
but sadly we know thats not the case. here in Africa, we are very "parent oriented" (for lack of a better word smiley) and we tend to only do what our parents and the society wants us to do. (which i reckon is very gay! undecided)

an example of this is. I know a couple(a Muslim guy and a Christian chic) they dated for 4years and pretty much understood themselves very well and decided to get married. Just imagine the kingsized feat their parent threw cos of religion. and they ended up not getting married. both of them are still single now at 38 and 33 respectively. crappy if u ask me. sad

well,  you have to ask yourself first. how did religion and human race become so inseparable?

I think the problem is with our brains. we became so smart that we turned out dumb all over again. we finally concluded that there must be a greater being that made everything around us. To make things worse, we were spread out all over the world and couldnt carry our message of greater being to every corner at the time. This resulted in all regions having their own greater being until the industrial age when travel was possible. most of the smaller "greater beings" went out of fashion and we are now stuck with a few.

lets imagine about 1500years back. everything below the Sahara desert knew nothing about Islam or Christianity and all. I would still love to note that both religion originated from the same region and propagated by Moguls/Persians and the Significant European powers at the time (English, Spanish, French) respectively.

on a final note, Look around you where ever you seat to read this. everything you see can be traced back to the Europeans. So i guess it was inevitable we ended up with their own religion (although we have modified it to suit us)

Having said all that, I was brought up a Christian and still would rather be called one than anything else. I just do believe that religion is only what it is RELIGION. and it should only sculpt you to handle life properly and not hinder you to explore your limits. i would gladly bring up my kids (when i have them) to be Christians Cos of the beautiful values of life it teaches. there is a lot of wisdom in it and we should all strive to learn more from it rather than just being Church goers and donating all our money (jk) tongue.

N/b: i know i said i wont say much,  couldn't help myself cheesy
