I can now conclude that PDP is not truly ready to wrestle the mantle of leadership of this country away from APC government... Why not below 35 ? 14 Likes |

The president signed the not too young to run bill into law some weeks ago and PDP publicly claimed credit for the law since the bill was sponsored by a PDP lawmaker from Lagos. The above guideline has however exposed the hypocricy of the party. Apart from the exorbitant N12million that they are demanding for nomination form, aspirants whose age falls between 35 and 39 cannot seek the presidential ticket of the party in clear violation of the not too young to run law. Aspirants must also be sponsored by at least 60 people from 2/3 of the states of the federation and they must all swear to an oath to abide by whatever the NEC of the party decides as regards the primary. So as it is, a candidate can emerge and PDP NEC can decide to present another candidate as the party flag bearer and the original winner must not complain having signed a legally binding oath to accept whatever NEC decides. I am really sorry for all the youths who still believe in PDP. That party will never ever change. Youth empowerment, internal democracy and rule of law are the least item on the agenda of that party. All they want is to return to power by hook or crook and start another round of looting. 131 Likes 15 Shares |

Lets be truthful to ourselves... 35 years of age is too young for a president. That is how you get leaders like kim jon un and Yahaya bello.. Nigerians wont vote for a 35 year old in a democratic system, we are too (elder conscious) for that. Same way buhari refused adesina to respond to obj's letter while even telling lai to be cautious with words as obj is much older than they are. The youngest presidents all over the world are from very small countries less than 10m population, and they are above 40 except kim jon un whom is not a president but a heirloom leadership passed down from his father. Lets not lie to ourselves. 28 Likes 4 Shares |

It could only happen in PDP. President signed not too young to run bill that pegged the age for president as 35yrs and above. And PDP that were deceiving Nigerians that PDP is the party for the youth has ignored the law that stipulates 35yrs and above and went for 40yrs and above with stringent condition for an aspirant to sponsor 60 persons from 2/3 of the state of the federation and nomination fee of 12million. PDP is really Party Deceiving People. They've set the ground for a 74yrs Atiku to clinch the party's ticket that they criticized APC for fielding a 72yrs Buhari in 2015 PDP hypocrisy stings. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

You are really so shameless. 1. What is the age of your party's (apc) presidential candidate? 2. What was (and is) the nomination fee in your party? 3. Why use half-truths as your headline? 4. Did you not see where it says that "the nomination fee is waived for female candidates"? 5. Who should have had the final say in the process? The apc? 6. So requiring a minimum of 60% win in all regions is now evil? You are so shameless, seriously. [s] seunmsg:[/s] 35 Likes 4 Shares |

When APC was selling ticket for 27 million, dollar was 210 and that equaled about $129k. At today's exchange rate that would be over 47 million naira. PDP is now selling ticket for 12 million and BMC think they have a right to complain? 18 Likes 3 Shares |

KratosCorp: You really missed the crux of my post. Even though I am not a member of APC, I must remind you that this is not about APC but PDP and its hypocrisy. PDP took credit for the not too young to run law. They celebrated it has their party's achievement since a PDP member sponsored the bill. It is only normal for every right thinking Nigerians to expect the party to fully embrace the law they publicly took credit for by coming up with a youth friendly guidelines. Instead, they violated the law by barring aspirants between ages 35-39 from seeking their party ticket. What now is the fate of PDP party members who are less than 40 and want to seek the party ticket. How will a young man of 35 years who is a member of PDP and wants to seek the party's ticket raise N12milliin for nomination form? Why should aspirants swear to an oath before they can seek their party's ticket? Above are the questions PDP should answer and not the irrelevant APC issues you raised in your post. 18 Likes 2 Shares |

Barring aspirants based on age...below 40? PDP is sure not ready to take back power yet. This will create an even worse image for the already dying party. PDP can't be working at cross-purpose with the law. It is illegal and so, won't hold. 1 Like 1 Share |

seunmsg:The nomination form is not too expensive at that price. Where do you think the party will get the money to conduct a hitch-free Presidential Primary Election? My only grouse with the modalities is the disenfranchisement of presidential-hopefuls below the age of 40. That isn't quite democratic. 1 Like 1 Share |

Esseite:If you can't do a certain thing at 35, when then do you think you'll be able to do it? At 70? Physically, intellectually, that's the prime age man! PDP could have just been silent on that instead of stating it in defiance of the not-too-young to rule bill. 7 Likes |

DeOTR: 60% of Nigerians leave their parent homes at 25, 10 years away from 35.. Nigerian graduate trainee positions end at 27, 8 years from 35. Managerial positions in Nigeria is usually pegged btw 35 - 40.. now we are talking presidency. Am only trying to be realistic. 2 Likes 1 Share |
