I dont understand if the state is being ruled by a king and passed on to future generations or still operating a very strong CABAL. i dont want to believe Saraki's duaghter will go for governorship come 2011 and ofcourse WIN.
kwarains when are you going to stand up against this CABAL?

It is not unusual to find strong political families all over the world. These are families, which have devoted themselves to the political enterprise, you could mention the Kennedy family in America, the Ghandi family in India, the Bhutto family in Pakistan, the Bush family in America, the Gore family in America. There are few people in Kwara State, who have devoted themselves to politics in the manner that the Saraki family has. Naturally, a man will excel at what he commits himself to, be it business, academics, and in this instance politics. The secret to the dominance of the Saraki family is commitment and perseverance. Anyone who is desirous of such political influence would do better to go and apply himself single-mindedly to politics the way the Saraki family has, and engage with the populace in the same way.

There is no secret to the political dominance of the Saraki family. the truth is that no one in Kwara State has worked harder, longer, and more consistently than Dr. Olusola Saraki in the field of politics. Naturally success attends effort and application. The lesson that a lot of people have refused to learn from Dr. Olusola Saraki is that of persistence. Few people had the courage or vision to pursue a political career in Kwara State the way he has. It is unrealistic for people to expect to have his level of influence without making the same level of sacrifice that he has. When he lost his first election in the 70s, he still persevered. When he was incarcerated by the Buhari-Idiagbon regime in the 80s how many people shared that experience with him. The emergence of Dr. Bukola Saraki as governor of Kwara state is not unusual. To give an example, even George Bush Sr. had two children as governors at one time in the US, and one of them George W Bush went on to become president.

The truth is that the Saraki family are enjoying the benefit of foresight, vision, hardwork, commitment and perseverance. The existence of strong, political, business, academic families etc is not unusual in the world. It beats me when people talk as if it is unfair that the Sarakis are politically powerful when so many of them have refused to engage in politicking, or with the populace. Very few of the people in the opposition do not even have the political track record of the Saraki family. Anyone who wants the same level of political success, should go and create his or her own history - endure political defeat, imprisonment., and setbacks the way Dr. Saraki has. Instead of criticizing blindly, people should be looking closer at why Dr. Saraki has been so dominant, and seeing what lessons they can take away from his life.

While you're busy lamenting on NL here, Saraki is busy feeding the Iya Mulikas in Ilorin and paying Baba Rasidi's hospital's bills.

But wait, is it a coincidence that most of the contributors are new, one-digit posters? Or is something going on here?
