Federal government has firmly stood against open grazing by the herders as multiple stakeholders ironed out plans to put an end the clashes between the herdsmen and the host communities. Audu Ogbeh, the minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, who was also part of the briefing, highlighted that much will be done to stop herdsmen and farmers clashes. “Open grazing is no longer viable, that’s why we’re switching to Ranching. We will do everything needed to stop clashes between farmers and herdsmen.” “The Government is not going to seize any land from anybody in order to achieve Ranching,” Audu Ogbeh, said.
