YBTC News-Last week, the governor of Zamfara State and Chairman Governors’s Forum, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari did the unexpected. The governor out of what I cannot describe told journalists in Talata Mafara that he had dropped his responsibility as the Chief Security Officer of the state.

Mr Yari, has attributed his resignation as the CSO of the state to helplessness of the state government and the people over recurring killings in some communities and the state at large.

Now, to put the fact straight, Zamfara has been facing one of the worst banditry in the country in recent time. Almost every day, killings and bloodshed are reported in the media. In fact, some attacks are even reported days after the incident have already taken place due to the fact that the affected areas are remote villages.

It is important to note that, Zamfara has recently been in the news not because of anything but because of the frequent attacks in some communities that continues to unfold episode by episode. On the 30th of March Vanguard newspaper reported that more than 30 persons were buried in Bawan Daji village of Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara state following a gunmen attack on the village.
