OrestesDante:While proficiency in any language is not a true barometer of intelligence, it still doesn't change the fact that English remains the preferred language of instruction in our schools, for better or worse. Defending mediocrity solely because it has to do with a colonial language is shortsighted and projects a keyhole view of the world. Lots of Nigerians have already lost their native dialect as it is, failure or plain refusal to improve their English only puts them in a lose-lose situation. + it wouldn't kill anyone if people learned how to type 4-word sentences without fumbling. 5 Likes 1 Share |
