Jonathan Gunu Taidi Esq, an aspirant to the office of the General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA,  has condemned the reported killings of innocent civilians in parts of Plateau state.



In a statement sent to the press, the Minna based legal practitioner bemoaned the failure of security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.
He further urged President Muhammad Buhari to rise up to the security challenge to stop further loss of lives and properties.




Information began to filter in yesterday that hundreds of defenceless Nigerians in parts of Plateau State were murdered in gruesome circumstances due to our perennial security deficit. This is indeed a very dark period given the frequency with which the lives of Innocent citizens are taken through unconstitutional means.
It is worrisome that, as usual, the perpetrators of this condemnable and dastardly acts have remained faceless, and have not been brought to justice. I commiserate with the entire people of Plateau State and Members of the various Branches of the Nigerian Bar Association who lost loved ones and pray for a peaceful repose of the souls of the victims. I must urge President Muhammadu Buhari to rise up to the challenge and redesign the security architecture of our country so that never again will the life of any citizen be lost in such gruesome circumstances.
