Plateau Killings: Dr. Cairo Condemns Attacks, calls for Peace and Immediate Arrest of killers. Frontline Governorship Aspirant of the APC in Delta State Dr. Cairo Ojougboh has condemned the recent killings in Plateau state, he described the killings as unfortunate and totally uncalled for. Dr. Cairo also charged the security agencies to make sure the perpetrators of the disastrous acts are fished out and prosecuted including their sponsors. The former member of House of Representatives and a former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP while commending the President at the immediate steps taken to address the security situation in the affected area also charged the President to reshuffle the security Chiefs in order to find a lasting solution to the continued farmers – herdsmen crisis. Dr. Cairo made this statement in Abuja issued by his campaign media Assistant Mr. Kenneth Udeh , Which read: “I received the news of the recent killings in Jos in uttermost shock and sadness, I join other well-meaning Nigerians in condemning these attacks and killings it is an unfortunate and criminal act. Human life is so precious and should be held supreme above every other thing. The misunderstandings between farmers and Herdsman should not be a reason for the taking a human life. I therefore call for peace in the affected area because no nation can make progress without peace. I appeal to the people to find a common ground for peace to reign. Over the years we have been living together in peace with both the farmers and herdsmen its quite unfortunate the situation has have tuned out this way. I commiserate with the families of those who lost their loved ones in the crisis including the injured. I call on Nigerians to pray for our nation and support the President in finding a lasting solution to this crisis. I must also commend the President, including the security agencies for the swift action taken by visiting the affected area and meeting with leaders in the affected regions. However, I suggest that the President to reshuffle the security Chiefs who would bring fresh strength in find the root cause of the crisis. The leaders of the areas and associations including the local chiefs should also be committed to the peace process by preaching peace and eschew violence as a means of settling disagreements. I believe that these crisis are sponsored so the security agencies should go beyond arresting by deploying intelligence machinery to track and arrest the sponsors of these attacks regardless of the social, religious or political status and ensure that they face the full face of the law to serve as a deterrent to others. May the souls of those who died rest in peace”. http://www.correctapro.com/2018/06/dr-cairo-ojougboh-react-to-killings-in.html?m=1
