The Referee that officiated Nigeria vs Argentina match has always been known for controversy. In the year 2016, during a league game in his home country, Turkey. He awarded a penalty against a team over their goalkeeper handling the ball with his hand in his own goal post. And recently during the Champions League match between Real Madrid and Bayern, he overlooked a penalty after a Madrid player handled the ball in their own box. This actually cost Bayern a place in the final of the Champions League. It looks like FIFA intentionally assigned the controversial referee for the crucial match between Nigeria and Argentina.
