Disappointing and sad. What is wrong with African Teams? One word: QUALITY. In the last 20 years we have gone backwards. Our players simply cannot play. Playing in Europe does not seem to e helping us. Remember players like George Weah Samuel Etoo Finidi George Drogba We are not producing those kind of players anymore. Technically. African players show embarrassing lack of intelligeence in decision making. The defenders are really very poor and cannot control the ball or play out of defence when under pressure. Compare Omeruo with Babayaro. Babayaro made it look easy but now we realize it is not. Remember the penalty Nigeria conceded to Serbia? I am not one of those who beliieves playing in Europe is evrything. We hae seen players like Iheanacho and Mikel fail to achieve everything we exected from them Where is the next Kanu, Okocha? Amunike Yekini,Taribo? These were all players with excellent ball control and football intelligencce. We need to find a way to commercialize our own league because the European clubs are actively blocking African players |
