When a president demonizes the victims of terror and protects the terrorists, we are in for more havoc of killings. When commander-in-chief metamorphose into blamer-in-chief; the nation is left vulnerable and clueless at the mercy of bloodthirsty herdsmen. When the supposed unbiased referrer becomes partial and parochial against a perceived weak team, the purpose of the game is defeated.

Nigeria has become a gigantic abattoir where human beings are slaughtered like valueless animals, in an ignoble quest to avenge for lost cows. My angst lies not only on the doorsteps of these murderous herdsmen but the so-called activists, religious leaders, elders, statesmen, politicians who are maintaining criminal silence in the face of unmitigated and gruesome massacre ravaging the land like hurricane. Silence in the face of genocide is not only evil but moral tragedy!

Where is Rev Fr. Mbaka? What is Adeboye saying? Is Oyedepo sleeping? Is T.B Joshua still in this country? The likes of Moukas, Kumuyis, Ayo Oritjafors, Bakares and Odukoyas, why the silence? Who will be the voice of reason and conscience of Nigeria at these trying times? Who will bail the cat? Why are these religious leaders not outraged and enraged by this high level of callousness and sadism in the land? Who bewitched these men? What are they afraid of?

Why will I go to church every Sunday to listen to a cowardice General Overseer who does not have the testicular fortitude to speak against tyranny, barbarism and oppression tormenting his church members? When will Winners Chapel, Redeem Church, Lord Chosen Church, Deeper Life, Adoration Ministry, Mountain of Fire, etc, organize their own protest against this mass murder of defenceless Nigerians? When will all these influential men of God address a joint press conference to condemn this wickedness and put pressure on President Buhari to protect lives and properties of all Nigerians and bring perpetrators of these satanic cum heinous acts to justice?

Evil triumph because good people of conscience do nothing, paraphrasing Edmond Burke. This is man inhumanity to man and humongous carnage going on in Nigeria. Posterity will not forget where each of us stood in the face of this bloodbath.
