The Role Of "FRSC" Concerning The Cars On Our Road? by Nobody: 10:24am On Jun 29, 2018
There is a Federal Agency called "Federal Road Safety Commission" (FRSC)
Their Main Job is to ensure Safety on the road. But what they do instead is
Harass private vehicles for silly reasons.
If they were doing their job, some of these killer tankers & trucks would never be on the road.
History records that in 1982, a fuel tanker exploded during the day on Ikorodu Road, killing many.
It's 2018, and we still have fuel laden tankers on the road in traffic at rush hour exploding and killing many.
Meaning that for 36 years, successive governments have been unable to solve the basic problem of moving fuel around in a safe manner.
This same month, container truck fell off a bridge in Ojuelegba, killing people. Has anything been done to stop that from happening again?
We will lament, people well mourn their dead, government will write condolence statements and we will move on and the process will repeat itself when the next disaster happens.
You can't sleep well because you might be robbed.
You can't have peace on the streets because SARS cam decide to 'raid'yoy and extort you.
You are afraid in traffic because if container doesn't fall on you, our petrol tanker explodes, theives will break your glass in traffic and rob you.
You can't afford to be sick because hospitals are shit and doctors are on strike.
Your kids are undereducated because schools are shit and private education is exorbitant.
You can't even relocate to the village because herdsmen will invade and massacre everyone.
Nigeria is not working. Actually, Nigeria hasn't worked for a long time. What we are now witnessing, is the beginning of the end. The systemic failure of many years have come to a head and things have fallen apart.
It will get worse. Before it gets better. If it ever will.
Whoever is driving this Nigerian bus, please tell him i want to come down. I'm not doing again.
It's time to find another country.
