One of the pipelines of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in Ilara axis of Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun, exploded, on Monday. Though The cause of the explosion could not be ascertained at the moment, But the entire area went up in flames. The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirming the incident to NAN, said the fire had been put under control. Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, told our correspondent that investigation is on to ascertain the cause of the incident. He further said that men of the State Police Command led by the Area Commander of Ogijo, military personnel protecting the pipelines and some other security agencies were on ground to monitor the environment.
