control, budget fights, campaign finance and
straight up campaign coverage.

Is comfortable with the pace and unpredictability of
covering Nigeria politics.

Can plan and manage beat coverage to ensure that
government is held accountable.

Has experience growing and engaging with a digital
audience, including the ability to aggregate news
and report through social media.

Can deliver compelling and concise writing quickly.

Can cultivate sources.

Understands and can explain political trends and
influences.

Has a facility at analyzing data and acquiring
records that drive stories and policy debates.

Can juggle and deliver quick turn, medium-term and
enterprise stories.

Is comfortable working as part of a team with
reporters in around Nigeria.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree

At least six years of experience as a professional
reporter

Experience covering Congress or state government
preferred, crime, business.
