HTC as decided to send some workers home due to the fall of market shares, sales, revenues and profits at least to stay alive the hard way.


HTC lay off announcement will be made at the company’s manufacturing meeting located in Taiwan and the OEM is looking to remove at least 22% of its total staff from its payroll. This will make the number of the company staff reduce from 6,450 to 4,950, that's 1,500 off.


By September, the lay off process should have been completed.

From sales, shipping stats and numbers released over the years, it is evident that HTC is struggling to keep up with the market, rivalry and fierce competition in the smartphone arena. Hence, the sack of 1,500 workers.
