Manchester United are set to benefit financially from Cristiano Ronaldo’s £88million move to Juventus.

The Real Madrid star is reported to be nearing a move to the Serie A giants after deciding to leave the Bernabeu after nine trophy-laden years.

Juventus are believed to have agreed on personal terms with Ronaldo and have tabled a €100m (£88m) bid to Real Madrid for the 33-year-old.

Manchester United was made aware of Ronaldo’s availability but Jose Mourinho decided against re-signing the forward, instead preferring to reinvest in other areas of his side.
