Hidden Facts About World War 2 And Similarities With Nigeria's Ethnic Wars by EternalTruths: 10:31am On Jul 07, 2018 |
What Did Hitler Do Which Warranted France and England To Declare War On Germany? He wanted an independent German economy. "Germany's unforgivable crime before WW2 was its attempt to loosen its economy out of the world trade system and to build up an own exchange system from which the world finance couldn't profit anymore. ...We butchered the wrong pig." -Winston Churchill, The Second World War (Book by Winston Churchill, Bern, 1960). "I am, of course, a Zionist, and have been ever since the Balfour Declaration." - Churchill quoted in The Official Churchill in One Volume, N.Y. Times (Nov. 6, 1991) by Herbert Mitgang "The war wasn't only about abolishing fascism, but to conquer sales markets. We could have, if we had intended so, prevented this war from breaking out without doing one shot, but we didn't want to." - Winston Churchill to Truman (Fultun, USA March 1946) "Should Germany merchandise again in the next 50 years we have led this war (WW1) in vain." - Winston Churchill in Times (1919) "This war is an English war and its goal is the destruction of Germany." - Winston Churchill (Autumn 1939 broadcast) "Not the political doctrine of Hitler has hurled us into this war. The reason was the success of his increase in building a new economy. The roots of war were envy, greed and fear." - Major General J.F.C. Fuller, historian, England "We didn't go to war in 1939 to save Germany from Hitler...or the continent from fascism. Like in 1914 we went to war for the not lesser noble cause that we couldnt accept a German hegemony over Europe." - Sunday Correspondent, London (17.9.1989) "Now we have forced Hitler to war so he no longer can peacefully annihilate one piece of the Treaty of Versailles after the other." - Lord Halifax, English embassador in Washington (1939) "The enemy is the German Reich and not Nazism, and those who still havent understood this, havent understood anything." - Churchills chief counselor Robert Lord Vansittart (September 1940 to foreign minister Lord Halifax) "It will be the Polish army that will invade Germany on the first day of war." - The Polish embassador in Paris (15.8.1939) "I will crunch Germany." - Roosevelt 1932(!) "What we didn't want to comprehend in the German (anti-Hitler) resistance during war, we learned completely afterwards: this war wasnt led against Hitler but against Germany." - Eugen Gerstenmaier, President of the German Bundestag since 1954, member of the resistance group "Bekennende Kirche" during WW2 "Hitler and the German people didn't want this war. We didn't answer Hitlers various petitions for peace. Now we have to admit that he was right. Instead of a cooperation with Germany, which he had offered us, now stands the gigantic, imperialistic might of the Sovjets. I feel ashamed to see how the same intentions which we accused Hitler of now are pursued under a different name." - Sir Hartley Shawcross, British chief-accuser in Nuerenberg "We made a monster, a devil out of Hitler. Therefore we couldnt disavow it after the war. After all, we mobilized the masses against the devil himself. So we were forced to play our part in this diabolic scenario after the war. In no way we could have pointed out to our people that the war only was an economic preventive measure." - US foreign minister Baker (1992) If Germany was headed by a leader like Merkel then, there would have been no war whatsoever. |

aaronson: and DrRasheed HsLbroker As the Brits fought to keep the Germans down, that is how some Ethnic groups are fighting to keep some Ethnic groups down in Nigeria. In the end, just as the Germans arose to be EU's powerhouse, so will that Ethnic group arise to be the power house of this geographical expression. True or False. Limeta will correct you if you are wrong. |

OneCorner: Europe between 1800 - 1945 is similar to what we have in Nigeria. Ethnic groups trying to undo other ethnic groups that are better than them. |

EternalTruths:well, WW2 was more of economically motivated but shrouded in various political propaganda which you rightly figured out in your awesome post but Ethnocentrism in Nigerian plays out virtually amongst all ethnic groups and I'm aware some groups are greatly marginalized but the fact of the matter is they only marginalized politically and not economically. Hence the comparison with the Hitler story is flawed. |

aaronson: Do you know why Obasanjo never opened Ibaka seaport alongside Tincan port when he was told to do so during his military era.? Do you know why no SE state have a refinery but Kaduna has one and Yar Adua was about to open another at Bauchi.? Do you know why Ajaokuta steel was sighted at Kogi instead of Onitsha as proposed by the whites.? Go and find out why the first international airport in the SE was built by Jonathan after years of cries by the Igbos. My dear, there are lots of similarities. |
