As the window for campaign closes, the preparation for Ekiti election has been full of brouhaha for the past few weeks.
Firstly it was the case of gunshot which wound Bamidele, later the incumbent governor was attacked.
The top aspirants are prof. Kolapo Olusola(PDP) and Kayode fayemi(APC).

Here are the reasons

Fate determinant:There's no doubt, Ekiti election will determine what will happen in Osun election come August.
It will also determine the fate of the two parties in the next general election

Taking Ekiti from pdp: Ekiti is the only state in the southwest being govern by PDP.
APC are planning everything possible to ensure that they win in Ekiti. Their victory will amount to no PDP governor in Ekiti State.

Fayose doesn't want to loose: If you're not in Ekiti, you might be wondering if Fayose is the candidate for PDP. The answer is not far fetch. It's because Fayose Haye to be a looser. If PDP must come back to power in the next general election, Ekiti and Osun election is not a thing to joke with. Fayose is the frotliner for the PDP.

Revenge time: If you're in Ekiti State in the last general election, you'll know what I mean by revenge. About 30000 policemen were deployed for the election.
This year election is the playback of 2014 election in the state. As of now, the trend is still the same.

Two incumbent:Unarguably, the two key aspirants are part of the current administration. Olusola is the present deputy governor of the state while Fayemi was a minister before is resignation. Loosing the election will leave any of them with nothing to go back to in politics....

Give Ekiti State free and fair election. That's all PDP asks for.

Apart from the bragging right that the winning party will enjoy as we approach 2019, there is really nothing crucial about Ekiti election. Jonathan used federal might to win the state forcefully in 2014 and still lost the presidential election. The voting pattern in Osun state is also very different from Ekiti and hence, what happens in Ekiti can't happen in Osun.

Fayemi may be happy base on federal power but if u don't hv d wisdom u will not know how to use it. Ameachi is bringing federal power to Rivers state bt he don't know how to use it. You don't use federal power by fighting b4 election. Wike knows how to use it and know how to fight you wen you are using it against him.


Fayemi with all your federal power, Fayose will still deliver ekiti to PDP!

You are not serious at all. Folks like you are a grave danger to democracy. In a democratic contest between two highly popular political parties with almost equal chances of winning, you are already insinuating that the victory of one of the parties is tantamount to rigging.

Do you think civil servants in Ekiti are happy with the autocratic and dictatorial Fayose? Civil servants are being owed months, pensioners months and gratuity equally not paid for years, yet, he is building a bridge costing billions that is not needed for now.

The major supporters of Fayose are okada riders, NURTW and some market women. These category, though very loud-mouthed and rough, majority of them don't have PVCs. These category loves Fayose because he allows all forms of hooliganism and disorderliness that the well educated Fayemi do not allow.

Majority of the educated folks in Ekiti are for Fayemi including all the rural areas that Fayose abandoned only to be doing showmanship at the capital.

I strongly believe the votes from the neglected rural areas is what is going to make PDP lose this election.
