I would like to use this medium to reach out to the relevant power distribution authorities to come to the aid of Tajudeen Aro/Abaren/Ewupe CDA in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

This community has been in total blackout for close to two years. The CDA made a lot of efforts towards procuring a replacement for the faulty transformer last year.

The Rural Electrification Department of the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing installed a transformer (contract was awarded via Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company-IBEDC) thereafter which was also faulty as well. Another one was installed about two months after or thereabout but it was discovered to be faulty too.

To cut the story short, the CDA has procured its own transformer since two months ago but we are waiting for the government agency involved in bringing the first transformer to come and retrieve it from the site of installation. That particular spot is the only suitable location for siting such delicate structure.

No positive response has been forthcoming from the government end.

P.S: I might not be able to furnish this forum with precise dates but all the facts presented here are verifiable.

Can the mods be kind enough to take this to frontpage? Thanks.

A monopoly public utility must never be privatized.

This is a failure of governance
