The story emanated from the NYT citing an anonymous source but everyone who was present at the meeting where he was ALLEGED to have said it have come out to say he never said it, trump himself has also denied it. That leaves us with one question, who was the anonymous source of the NYT? They haven't been able to name anyone till now and they haven't been able to corroborate the story from any legitimate source so there you have it, all real and identifiable people who attended that meeting say Trump never said anything like that. On the other hand, you have the fake news NYT citing an anonymous person who they have refused to identify making unverifiable claims.
