No need to panic, the cash is hanging somewhere. In some cases it is auto-reversed, in other cases you have to apply for a reversal. I had similar issue last year and I mesaaged the bank on their Verified facebook handle to find out why my recipient is yet to get her money. It was then I was told that the recipient's account number doesn't match with the bank I picked. They requested for the bank name and helped me complete the transaction. Tell your friend to either go to the nearest branch, call them or message them.

there was a time Someone sent me 6k but mistakenly sent it to another bank..the person went to both banks to complain.. Till today the money was not recovered

Simply call the bank and explain yourself, they will guide you on what to do

Let her go to her bank and lay a complaint, they would now communicate with the bank the funds was wrongly transferred to and it would be reversed back to her account. that is if the wrong beneficiary has not withdrawn the funds.

Bank branch? or Online channel (Mobile App / Internet / USSD) ?

They will put the person acount on PND.. post no debit...and they wil also flag his or her bvn.. he no get choice he go go bank to complain

They would contact the person to come refund. If he is a good Nigeria he would, If he is bad sorry. Na to abandon the account.

Your case is not clear....wrong transfer to a wrong bank and a wrong account number. The coincidence is...

While attempting to complete a transaction online (I assume) you will be required to confirm the beneficiary details.

Or is the concern how to reverse a successfully completed transaction.

This is the mentality killing most people. Spending this kind of money is equivalent to stealing and not an answer to someone's prayers. No wonder the country is going to sh*t. we are so religious and quick to call God but yet, so mean and evil.

I believe it's not possible to make a transaction to a wrong bank, I think each bank have their own account code. So the money will be reversed.

I have similar issue last week when they pay our June salary... They credit me twice and I need that money badly, in fact is was the exact money I need and thank it was weekend. My brother, before day break I don received debit alert. I tot they will give me the money as compulsory loan which I go happy.

If they sent it to an account number and and wrong bank (e.g GTB account number and then wrongly chose Access bank as bank type), the money will hang. Call customer care of your bank and they'll resolve it in 3 days. My story.
