A lot can be said about the 96 invasion of these countries, but the BBC's tacit insinuation that the mineral resources of these countries was the motivating factor is laughable, given Nigeria's immense energy reserves and untapped natural resources. The operation to discredit Nigeria and paint her as an imperialistic power didn't just start with the French. Nigeria spent $10 billion and hundreds of Nigerian lives pringing peace to these countries. Today both countries are thriving democracies because of Nigeria's leadership in the region.

$10b dollars that would have been used to open Ibaka & Ibeno seaports, build rail line from East to West and possibly dredge river Niger.

Wasted to bring peace when poverty is already threatening the peace of Nigeria.
