But seriously; i organize speed-dating events and half of my clients are in their 40s and the other half in their 30s. So this is research to help me understand my clientele and serve them better as we are also planning to start  relationship counseling.

My Aunt never got married!

She was a beuty Queen, had a picture of Price Charming in her head and never got to meet him!

While my mum and her other sisters were settling for normal men, she was waiting for a fairy tale marriage . . . and she never got it!

She's in her early 50s now, still very beutiful, and very lonely!

Men Over 40 Who Have Never Been Married

Survey Results
What do men who’ve never been married, age 40 and over, really think and feel about their situation and the institution of marriage? Carl Weisman, M.S., found the answer when he conducted an online survey in the summer of 2006. While researching his new book, So Why Have You Never Been Married?, he received responses from 1533 heterosexual men (95% of whom were American and the rest Canadian) with answers to 44 questions.

Here’s what he found:

12% feel their parents’ relationship had a great deal of influence on their never marrying, but 64% feel there was little or no influence

Only 12% feel their closest friend’s marital status plays a role in their own marital decision

18% reported having had over 100 sexual partners

24% had less than 10 sex partners

31% were engaged at least once

77% reported they were not in a love relationship at the time of the survey

44% fear ending up alone; 37% regret never having been married

28% say they fear marriage while 45% fear divorce

33% do not believe in soul mates and another 33% believe in them but are not waiting to meet theirs

48% fear marrying the wrong person, 5% fear never getting married

40% have a positive view of marriage; 17% are negative

62% say they’d like to be married; 8% would not; 31% are undecided

40% are not sure or don’t believe they can be satisfied with just one sexual partner for the rest of their life

In response to the question, Which is most important to you in a long-term relationship?, the men responded this way: 49% - personality and sense of humor; 15% - sexual compatibility; 13% - intelligence; 12% - physical attractiveness; 6% - spiritual/religious compatibility; and 5% - financial stability

Even if they found the right partner, 44% would still not marry her; 25% would live with her; and 14% would date her but live separately

In response to the question, How do you feel about never marrying?, they responded this way: 26% are indifferent or neutral; 17% are content; 8% are happy; 15% feel lonely; 6% feel unhappy; 4% feel confused or lost; and less than 1% are angry or mad.
