As things appear now, Saraki is viewed as a candidate from the north and he can't win Buhari if he eventually decides to contest. Hate him or like him, Buhari is still the man to beat come 2019.

His other viable option is to bid his time till 2023 to contest. Unfortunately for him, that will be the time the south will want to lay claim to the presidency after the north must have done 8 years.

Maybe he should start aligning with the south now so he can stand a chance then.

Its simply greed and over ambition that is killing saraki. He knows quite well that if he leaves APC he has no chance against atiku. That's why he is foot dragging in leaving the party. He knows he is a bad looser .
The way he manipulated in becoming the president of the Senate can not repeat itself again .
He is nothing but a traitor and selfish .

My problem is why you people believe senators defecting from apc is the key to ousting Buhari in 2019. You guys are politically naive o... Buhari tsunami brought in lot of the current crop of senators and not the other way round... Crazily, most of these senators are even from the North where Buhari even in his worst days is painstakingly undefeatable. It would have made more sense if it was south west apc senators that were defecting en masse. Unfortunately, the current political setup in southwest points to an apc dominance.

saraki is not going to contest the pdp presidential ticket .
what is happening is a game of political survival . before you can undestand the reason why saraki and others are leaving you fist need to understand what kind of person buhari is , then you will see their reasons for wanting to move out

15 Senators left their former clubs APC fc after a torrid 3 seasons at the top level....

Meanwhile, 2 strikers left APC fc for ADC in a bid to seek for playing times....

8 defenders, 3 midfielders and 3 strikers also Left APC fc to PDP fc after they allegedly fell out with their newly signed Head coach, Adams Oshiomhole....

However, the no-nonsense newly signed coach has issued a stern warning to the misfiring left winger, Chris Ngige , warning him to watch his back.

The captain of APC fc, Bukola Saraki is now sitting on the fence and hoping to force his move immediately the transfer window opens in September 23.

Painfully, A prolific defender, Shehu Sani who played a key role in the APC's cup winning 3 years ago failed his medicals at his new Club and his contract was terminated..... Hopefully, they might loan him to SDP fc by next season.

buhari tsunami didnt do anything ,in politics you rely on others to sell ur candidacy to the voters , if buhari was that powerful alone why didnt he win all the other past elections he contested alone without the backing of many of these decamping politicians .
it was coming together of all these politicians from pdp and others to form apc that won him the election , anytime anyday saraki still controls a large portion of kwara voters ,likewise many of these politicians , the effect of senators defecting may not be all that too evident but when governors start moving out , then the game changes ,senators need to move out now because apc will not give many anti buhari senators another ticket and inec has already set a deadline for the submission of party names , so any senator that wastes time may eventually lose out in getting the ticket of another strong party

But I am afraid Shehu Sani and El Rufai might not be able to work together, hence he is likely to dump APC at the tail end.

i don't think it was a fair analysis because in South West, a senator is as good as useless. They have no influence and the South never recorded 70& winning for any party. It is always a divided zone when it comes to voting due to the non-Yoruba votes resident here.

Buhari won States like, Zamfara, Kebbi, Borno, Bauchi, Kano, Niger. He didn't win any other Northern States against Yara Dua so why the hype?

Despite all... The APC is still leads in number...
The Senators are a total of 109 and APC has a total of 53, PDP 49, ADC 3, APGA 2, and vacant ....
The House of Reps members are a total of 360 and APC has 192, PDP 156, ADC 4, APGA 5, ACCORD 1, SDP 1, VACANT 1..
The APC members will regroup, meet and plan a positive way forward for 2019, while these other party's are there dishing out negative talks instead of planning a way forward from this.
APC is the only party who has the interest of Nigeria at heart.
These other party's don't stand a chance against APC
