The Afor Market Town of Ogwe-Asa in Ukwa-West Local Government Area of Abia State was agog with both human and vehicular traffic yesterday; Saturday 28th July, 2018 as colleagues, friends and associates of Lt Commander Samuel Obunwa Ebere(rtd); a retired Naval Officer and immediate past District Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia South came to pay their last respect.

According to a release signed by Sir Don Ubani; KSC, JP, Abia State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, the funeral service was conducted in his country-home by the Deeper Life Church, Obehie-Asa District. In his funeral oration, the Chairman of PDP in Abia State Sir Johnson Onuigbo, represented by the State Publicity Secretary, Sir Don Ubani, expressed sadness that Lt Commander Ebere died at a time his useful contributions to the Party, State and humanity were very highly needed. He eulogized the late Commander for his worthy services in nation-building while he lived. He urged the bereaved family, Ogwe Community, PDP in Ukwa-West and Abia-south to bear the loss with fortitude.

PDP in the State also expressed gratitude to members of the Local Organizing Committee for the burial, led by Sir Esiaba Iwezor, Hon Ben Nwachi, Mr Emma Chibor, Mr Ify Bucknor, Mr Kasarachi Michael Enyinna and the Widow and Children of late Mr Collins Alozie Ebere who made sure the burial was a huge success.
