Instagram has recently added a feature to the app which makes it easier to connect with friends by showing you when they’re available to chat. Goodbye to the days of sending direct messages without a clue as to whether the receiver is online or not. DMing friends and connecting over the content you love is more fun when you know your friends are there to see it. This update gives you the ability to have more of those real-time conversations while giving you the control to hide your status altogether.

How to see who is active on Instagram(Instagram New Feature)

You can see when people who follow you or have direct conversations with are active or were last active on Instagram. You can control the visibility of your own activity status in Settings. There are a few ways to see when someone’s active on Instagram:

1. You’ll see a green dot next to their username and photo in your direct inbox and elsewhere on Instagram.
2. In your direct inbox, you’ll see their most recent activity status (Example: Active 25m ago, Active yesterday, Seen, Typing…).
3. If you don’t want people to see when you’re active on Instagram, you can turn off your Activity Status.

How to turn off activity status on Instagram

People you follow or have direct conversations with can see when you were last active on Instagram. You can change the visibility of your active status at any time. To change the visibility of your activity status:

1. Go to your profile and tap (iOS) or (Android) in the top right
2.Tap Activity Status. Tap next to Activity Status to turn off your active status.
