RAS KIMONO TO BE FINALLY LAID TO REST
Three tribute concerts will be organized in honour of Okeleke Elumelu, the late Nigerian musician better known as Ras Kimono.

The ‘Rhumba Stylee’ singer died on June 10 at a hospital in Lagos after a brief illness.

Speaking on behalf of the singer’s family, Theophilus Ehizibue announced the series of events leading up to the late singer’s funeral.

According to him, Kimono’s funeral process will commence on Friday, August 17 with a social wake-keep to be held at his residence in Magodo, Lagos.

NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS SUSAN PETERS GETS SCHOLARSHIP TO STUDY IN AUSTRALIA

MTV VMAS: JENNIFER LOPEZ SET TO RECEIVE VIDEO VANGUARD AWARD
American singer, Jennifer Lopez is set to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

This was made known by the organizers of the MTV VMA on Thursday.

In line with the award, Lopez will also perform live for the first time since 2001 during the award show and is nominated for two “VMAs” for her most recent single, “Dinero”.

STEVE HARVEY TO HOST MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT FOR THE FOURTH TIME
American comedian and TV show host, Steve Harvey will be returning as the anchor of the Miss Universe pageant.

The Emmy award winner will take the stage in Bangkok, Thailand, where the three-hour competition will take place on December 16.

Over the pageant’s 67-year history, Bangkok has hosted Miss Universe twice; in 1992 and 2005.

Two representatives of Thailand have also won the crown in 1965 and 1988.
