Extend Your Reach: Ijebu North East Exco Members Tell Honourable Badejo by ogunrevivalist: 11:32am On Aug 06, 2018 |
The executive council members of Ijebu North East APC local government have called on Honourable Badejo Adewale Abayomi to extend his good deeds to all parts of the Ijebu Central Federal Constituency made up of Odogbolu, Ijebu Ode and Ijebu North East. The call was made by the local government Party chairman, Honourable Oluwafemi Adewale Omowunmi at a meeting the executive members had with the honourable at the party’s secretariat on Friday, August 3 in Atan, Ijebu North East. It was an occasion that saw many members of the executive council express their joy at having someone like Otunba Badejo Adewale step into the arena to represent the people of Ijebu North Central Federal Constituency after many years of having candidates whose sole interest in aspiring for political office was to enrich themselves at the people’s peril. Chief (Mrs) Oresanwo, the women leader, appealed to the honourable to put lobbying for the repair of the major road leading to the local government at the top of his list once he is elected to the House of Representatives in order to ease the suffering brought on the people by the failure of others to use their good offices to do so. She called on Honourable Badejo be the exception to the habit adopted by many politicians who forget the people who elected them shortly after being elected. The youth leader of the local government, Mr Yomi Oladipupo praised the honourable for donating fans and a generator to the local government Party secretariat as well as for the good deeds he had become known for. He also called on Honourable Badejo to make the development of all parts of Ijebu Central Federal Constituency –especially Ijebu North East which had suffered years of neglect- a key angle of the legacy he planned to leave in the political arena. Mr. Oludipe Ezekiel, an ex-officio member, declared that he could see signs and evidence that Honourable Badejo would fulfil all the promises he had made because they were realistic and backed by years of doing the same for people from his own pockets. He emphasised the extension of federal presence to Ijebu North East so that the local government area could benefit from federal infrastructural allocations. Mr Oludipe lamented that despite producing many legislators, Ijebu North East had not had the privilege of hosting state or federal institutions such as higher institutions, factories, etc. He assured Honourable Badejo of the people’s support and willingness to work as one body to ensure he got the ticket to represent the Party at the primaries as well as win the general elections in 2019. He went on to appeal to Honourable Badejo to remain close to the people while using his business acumen and administrative savvy to return a meaningful life to the people. Honourable Badejo assured the executive council members of his sincerity and promised to always be faithful to the Party’s manifesto while ensuring he got the dividends of democracy across to the people who gave him the mandate to represent them at the House of Representatives. He called on the executives to champion a move to recall him from the House if he failed to connect with them six months after being sworn in. Honourable Oluwafemi Adewale Omowunmi thanked the honourable and his entourage for coming. He reminded the honourable of the need to do his work in the grassroots, especially in his own local government as well as the two other local government areas. Honourable Oluwafemi assured Honourable Badejo of the readiness of the council members to support him provided he took the advice of the Party leaders and all well-meaning Party members.
