The Football Association expects coach Fabio Capello to resign without demanding compensation should England fail to progress to the last 16 of the World Cup, according to the BBC. Capello's future has been called into doubt after England's dire start in South Africa, with just two points on the board following draws with the United States and Algeria. While the FA continues to publicly back the Italian, the BBC reports that senior figures are privately considering their next move should England fail to progress past the group stage for the first time since 1958. England will top Group C should they beat Slovenia on Wednesday but concerns remain about an apparent split in the camp, with former captain John Terry revealing a crisis meeting is to be held on Sunday evening to review the Algeria match. There is reported to be an acceptance within Capello's management team that his position would be untenable should England fail to reach the knockout stages. The FA renegotiated Capello's contract only in June, removing a break clause from the 64-year-old's four-year deal which would have allowed them to avoid paying a large compensation package should the Italian be sacked. The FA is banking on Capello walking away should England bomb out - but, with two years remaining on his £6 million-a-year contract, would have to stump up in the region of £12m to sack the former Real Madrid and Milan boss |

i'm so pissed with d English team. Let's face it' Gerald' Lampard, Rooney etc are not all that. The English press hypes them so much when in reality they ain't all that. Capello should take only half d blame. |
