Kwara state Governor, AbdulFatah Ahmed says the decision to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not for selfish reasons but to secure a better platform with abundant opportunities for Kwarans.
Governor Ahmed gave the explanation when he received a delegation from Oro, the hometown of the minister for information and culture, Lai Mohammed.
The delegation was led by the national President, Oro Descendants Union, Uthman Balogun.
The governor noted that the benefits the state achieved under the APC were not commensurate with what the state contributed for it’s victory in 2015.
According to him, the desired expectation is not achieved while some individuals are being persecuted by the government.

Governor Ahmed who insisted that all defectors from the APC were reluctant to leave the party said injustice within the party is unbearable.
He called on Kwarans to remain united and understand that the change process is for collective interest, saying that Kwarans are better off when working together.
