A new report says Facebook is currently asking banking institutions for users banks account details. The reasons for the new move is that the company plans to use these details for its new service. Facebook plans to launch a new feature where it will offer bank services to customers via messenger.

This is coming after the Mark Zukerberg lead institution was heavy criticized for sharing user data with many app developers. It could be recalled that Facebook was rocked by a scandal after Cambridge international leaked private details for the platform users for cash.

Facebook is asking these banking institutions for user’s bank card transactions, checking account balances, and where purchases were made. In its response, Facebook admits to the report, but said it was not asking for transaction data.

The source who revealed the information said Facebook had already discussed with top American banks for its new plans. The banks include Chase, JPMorgan, Citibank, and Wells Fargo.
