The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen the bank accounts of the Akwa Ibom state government. This is coming within hours just as former governor Senator Godswill Akpabio officially decamps to the All Prohressives Congress, APC.

Meanwhile the executive governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel had earlier on Tuesday sacked Sen. Akpabio’s brother and other appointees of the state government including commissioners recommended by the former governor, after the resignation of the Deputy governor of the sate and the defection of AKHA Speaker.

Recall that Benue state government also suffered similar fate when it woke up to discover that 3 of its accounts in 3 commercial banks were frozen.
