Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Co. Ltd, shortened as IVM, is a Nigeria's First automobile and bus manufacturing company. It was founded by Mr. Innocent Chukwuma and runs a plant in Nnewi in the state of Anambra, Nigeria.

70% of the parts of their cars are sourced and produced locally while the remaining 30% are reportedly imported from Japan, China and Germany.

With production of their cars having been in production since 2014, they already have about 30 different models to choose from including Ambulances, Military-Grade Armoured Cars, Luxurious Buses, 17 Mini-Buses, 4 Passenger cars, 4 Pick-up trucks and 3 SUV's in their production line.


Now, a car I choose to single out and My main aim of focus from this fledgling Automaker, IVM is their G80.

The IVM G80 is a local replica and alternative to the ever Popular Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. Modeled after Mercedes G Guard, a mid-size four-wheel drive luxury SUV manufactured and sold by Mercedes-Benz, the G80 Characterizes its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction also not forgetting to leave out the G-Classes legendary off-road ability.

On the quality of the vehicle, Mr. Kosy Maduanusi, who is the company’s Sales Manager, assured that the IVM 80 is comparable to the G Wagon adding that the IVM 80 was a truly Nigerian SUV as about 65 percent of the parts are sourced locally. The G80's starting price begins at N27,825,000


Senate President, Bukola Saraki, his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce and other lawmakers are among the growing clients of IVM vehicles.

The Nigerian Army has also taken delivery of modified G80 Suv's it ordered from Innoson Motor Manufacturing Company which were configured for deployment for Operation Lafiya Dole and other military operations.
