That girl is not ugly...her face is just unusual in terms of arrangement of features but not ugly....

It's her facial features.. scrunched/pinched together which made it look like that... especially her nose(too drawn down over her mouth). She has this bored hard look in her eyes too....but I love the cleft in her chin and her ears . ..

I do agree with SheisElle that talking bad about her appearance is not too cool. Everyone is beautiful in their own little ways and we should honestly shun abusing people based on their physical outlook. You would not find it funny if someone calls you a monkey all because you are black.

As for the putting down due to location. It's her own problem not that of the ex. I doubt he even bats an eye. Except you are blinded. There are some neighborhoods in Isolo that you would have to be really loaded to even rent a mini flat in let alone have land and build a house . It's all relative.
