Cancellation was recorded in 8 wards amounting to 40 polling units; and 16,298 votes affected. Reasons for cancellation were fracas, over voting, and non-usage of card readers.

Party agents blame massive cancellation on failure of card readers few hours after voting commenced. The agent of PDP at the collation centre, Samaila Burga, insisted that failure to provide alternative to failed card readers may push people to insist they must vote even without card readers.


He also alluded that in some areas in Alkaleri, election did not commence till 3pm due to late arrival of election materials.

“We are saying this, not for immediate measures to be taken, but for avoidance of future occurrence, because if it happens people may be forced to react.”

GPN presented a candidate loved by the people, hence, their strong performance in the Bauchi by-election. That is what 2019 will be all about. If APC cannot present reputable individuals, they will have themselves to blame. Giving their Governorship ticket to Yahaya Bello is a political harakiri in Kogi state. Buhari will still get the support of the people but it is absolutely impossible for someone like Yahaya Bello to ride on Buhari's wave to victory unlike Dino and most NASS members that won't get 1/3 of the total votes they got in 2015.

Buhari won five States in the Southwest when APC had four Governors in that region. You expect him to lose Southwest now that his party controls the whole Southwestern States? You also expect him not to have at least 40% of the votes in the South South and Southeast now that he's contesting against a fellow Northerner? You must be new to politics.
